Uttar Pradesh Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EL.Ed) is also known as UP BTC. It is a teacher training program for a duration of 2 years. The selection process is done by the Basic Education Board, UP. The purpose is to choose the candidates who are eligible to perform various roles like assistant teachers, teachers, tutors, and student counselors. The selection of students can be done on the basis of marks in Class 12th.

Selected candidates should acquire professional knowledge by attending 4 semesters. The UP D.EL.Ed is aimed to prepare or provide teachers with proper training from classes 1 to 8th. The main motive of this course is to fulfill the basic educational need for every child. The candidates are shortlisted for D.El.Ed by the regulatory authority of the BTC exam, Pariksha Niyamak Pradhikari.
